Planners worked across five separate SAP screens to assemble a single job package, typing work-order data, steps and permit details in by hand. Input is now captured by voice, dropdown and field recognition in one workspace, and permits are suggested automatically.
Our approach
SAP itself was left untouched. The workspace starts from the SAP exports the planner already has: those are read in as work-order context first, then the execution steps are built, then permits and sign-offs surface as open items, and only after that does the package go to print. The hard part sat in those exports, which arrive as PDFs and have to run through a dedicated import step to be recognised reliably. Anything filled in automatically therefore stays a proposal the planner confirms.
One reviewed job package per order that links back into SAP, instead of five screens filled in by hand.
